For a trip to Washington

State Rep. Robert Latta, R-Bowling Green, is hoping voters in the 5th Congressional District will send him to Washington. Latta is one of five Republicans to appear on the special primary ballot Nov. 6. “Public service is a calling,” Latta said. “My dad taught me years ago, to be a true public servant you must give of yourself and give to the people you represent.” Latta is the son of Delbert Latta, who served the 5th District in Congress from 1959 to 1989. “I’ve seen a lot of people in my life who were very good public servants, and I’ve seen a lot of politicians,” Latta said. “The politicians are the ones who see how much they can take from the people they are representing. I want to make a difference and I want to be a person who represents the district to the best of my ability, and I believe I can do that.” Latta is a graduate of Bowling Green High School and Bowling Green State University.
